Why is Tasmania cold?
Tasmania is actually not very cold. The climate in Tasmania is temperate oceanic with four seasons. The mean temperature in Hobart, the capital city, ranges from 13 °C (55 °F) in January to 4 °C (39 °F) in July. The climate is milder in the western part of the state, with average daily maximum temperatures ranging from 25 °C (77 °F) in summer to 12 °C (54 °F) in winter. The northern part of the state is slightly warmer than the southern part.
