Buckjumpers: Australian Rodeo Riders of Bucking Horses

Buckjumpers (or "Buckies") is Australian/New Zealand slang for rodeo riders who specialize in riding bucking horses – horses trained to buck violently to unseat the rider.

Buckjumping is a premier rodeo event; riders aim to stay mounted for a set time. In Australian/NZ culture, buckjumpers are celebrated as skilled, fearless athletes, and their performances draw great excitement.
