Are there any volcanoes in Ontario?

There are no active volcanoes in Ontario, but there are several extinct volcanoes. The most notable of these is the Lake Superior Volcanic Complex. The Lake Superior Volcanic Complex consists of several hundred volcanoes that erupted between 1.1 and 1.0 billion years ago. The largest of these volcanoes was the Mount Josephine Volcano, which was over 10,000 feet tall. The Lake Superior Volcanic Complex is no longer active, and the volcanoes have been eroded over time. However, the volcanic rocks can still be seen in many places around Lake Superior.
