Where is the Columbia River Basin?

Location: Western North America (United States and Canada)

The Columbia River Basin is primarily located in the northwestern United States, with a relatively small portion extending into southeastern British Columbia in Canada. It encompasses parts of seven US states – Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Nevada, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. The Columbia River itself begins in the Canadian Rockies of British Columbia and, after traversing through various landscapes such as lush forests, scenic deserts, and fertile valleys, eventually discharges its waters into the Pacific Ocean near Astoria, Oregon. Overall, the Columbia River Basin is known for its abundant natural resources, breathtaking ecosystems, and diverse economic activities.
