From Columbia Lake, the Columbia River flows south into the United States, passing through Washington State. Mouth

The Columbia River empties into the Pacific Ocean at the city of Ilwaco, Washington, located at the mouth of the river. The river's mouth is marked by a large sandbar known as the Columbia River Bar.

The total length of the Columbia River, from its source at Columbia Lake to its mouth at the Pacific Ocean, is approximately 1,243 miles (2,000 kilometers). It is one of the largest rivers in North America by volume, with an average discharge of over 25,000 cubic feet per second (708 cubic meters per second).
