Mauritius and Maurice are not the same island. Mauritius is an island nation located in the Indian Ocean, about 2,000 kilometres off the southeast coast of Africa. It is a volcanic island with a tropical climate, and is known for its beautiful beaches, coral reefs, and lush forests. Maurice, on the other hand, is a French given name that is equivalent to the English name "Morris".
