Puerto Rico School Hours: Start & End Times by Grade Level

School schedules in Puerto Rico vary by district and school, but typical public school hours follow this pattern:

Start Times

• Elementary: 7:30 – 8:00 AM
• Middle School: 7:30 – 8:30 AM
• High School: 7:30 – 9:00 AM

End Times

• Elementary: 12:30 – 2:00 PM
• Middle School: 2:00 – 3:30 PM
• High School: 3:00 – 4:30 PM

Many schools operate on a single-session basis (all grades same hours), while others use double sessions (morning/afternoon shifts) to manage capacity. Private schools set their own schedules, often starting later (8:00–8:30 AM) and ending 2:30–3:30 PM.
