Lechuguilla Cave: The Deepest Known Cave in the United States

Lechuguilla Cave in Guadalupe Mountains National Park, New Mexico, is the deepest known cave in the U.S. Discovered in 1986, it features a complex system of passages, chambers, and domes with rare formations (gypsum flowers, popcorn, helictites) and endemic endangered species (Lechuguilla Cave salamander, Tooth Cave pseudoscorpion).
