U.S. Military Bases in Trinidad During World War II

During WWII, the United States established several bases in Trinidad to protect Caribbean and South Atlantic sea lanes:

• Chaguaramas: Largest base; naval, air, and submarine facilities on the northwest peninsula.
• Scarborough: Naval and air base on the northeast coast.
• Monos Island: Naval and submarine base off the west coast.
• Galera Point: Radar station and air base on the southwest coast.

These bases provided logistical support and helped shield Allied shipping from German U‑boats.
