No Eclipse Premier in Puerto Rico for 2023/2024 Solar Eclipses

Puerto Rico was not in the path of totality for either the October 14, 2023 annular eclipse or the April 8, 2024 total solar eclipse.

2023 Annular Eclipse ("Ring of Fire")

• Path: Oregon → Texas → Yucatán → Central America → Colombia → Brazil.
• PR saw a partial eclipse (~60% obscuration) — not annular.

2024 Total Solar Eclipse

• Path: Mexico → Texas → Midwest → Northeast US → Eastern Canada.
• PR saw a partial eclipse (~15% obscuration) — barely noticeable.

Next Eclipses Visible from PR

• Jan 26, 2028: Annular — path crosses PR (partial elsewhere).
• Aug 12, 2045: Total — path crosses PR (major event).

Viewing Tips for Partial Eclipses

• ISO 12312-2 certified glasses mandatory.
• Pinhole projector (colander, tree leaves).
• Never look directly without protection.

For "eclipse premier" experiences (totality/annularity), travel to the path. PR residents flew to Texas/Arkansas (2024) or Mexico (2023).
