What is a Romania postal code?

Romania has a six-digit postal code. Postal codes are assigned to localities, and each locality is assigned a unique code. For example, the code 100116 is for Bucharest, the capital city of Romania.

The first two digits of the postal code indicate the county, and the third digit indicates the locality within the county. The last three digits are used to further distinguish between different areas of the locality.

For example, the code 100116 is for the centre of Bucharest, while the code 100118 is for the northern part of the city.
