What is the capital of Svalbard?
There is no single capital of Svalbard. Svalbard is a Norwegian archipelago in the Arctic Ocean. The archipelago is governed by the Svalbard Treaty, which states that Svalbard should be demilitarized and that no country should claim sovereignty over the islands. The Norwegian government has appointed a governor to oversee the administration of Svalbard, and the capital is considered to be Longyearbyen, the largest settlement on the islands. However, there is no formal capital of Svalbard.
