What kind of landforms are found in Greece?

Mountains:

The Pindos mountain range is the most prominent mountain range in Greece, stretching from Albania in the northwest to the Peloponnese in the south. Other notable mountain ranges include the Rhodope Mountains in the northeast, the Olympos Mountains in central Greece, and the White Mountains in Crete.

Plains:

The largest plains in Greece are located in Thessaly (Central Greece), Macedonia (Northern Greece), and Messenia (Peloponnese). Smaller plains are found throughout the country, such as the Argos plain in the Peloponnese and the Saronic plain in Attica.

Hills:

Greece has many hills due to its mountainous terrain, especially in the Peloponnese and Central Greece. The hills vary in size and shape and often covered with forests or olive groves.

Coastline:

Greece has an extensive coastline due to its numerous islands and peninsulas. The coastline is characterized by deep gulfs, bays, and promontories, creating numerous natural harbours. The most significant gulfs are the Gulf of Corinth and the Gulf of Thermaic, while the largest peninsulas are the Peloponnese, Attica, and Halkidiki.

Islands:

Greece is famous for its over 6,000 islands, scattered throughout the Aegean Sea and the Ionian Sea. Some of the most well-known islands include Crete, Rhodes, Corfu, Mykonos, Santorini, and Zakynthos. Each island has its own distinct geological features and natural beauty, ranging from volcanic landscapes to lush vegetation.
