Spain vs. Ukraine: Which Country Is Larger?

Ukraine is larger than Spain.

• Ukraine: 603,628 km² (233,062 sq mi) – Europe's largest country entirely within Europe (Russia is larger but transcontinental).
• Spain: 505,992 km² (195,365 sq mi) – includes Balearic Islands, Canary Islands, Ceuta, Melilla.

Ukraine exceeds Spain by ~97,600 km² (~37,700 sq mi), roughly the size of Hungary or Indiana. Both have diverse geography: Ukraine's steppe, forest-steppe, Carpathians, Crimean Mountains; Spain's Meseta, Pyrenees, Baetic ranges, coastal plains, islands.

Population: Spain (~47M) > Ukraine (~37M pre-2022, lower now due to war/refugees). GDP: Spain (~$1.4T) > Ukraine (~$160B pre-war). But in pure land area, Ukraine wins.
