What does Swiss money look like?

Swiss banknotes are issued in denominations of 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and 1000 francs. The 10 franc note is blue, the 20 franc note is red, the 50 franc note is green, the 100 franc note is yellow, the 200 franc note is brown and the 1000 franc note is violet. All Swiss banknotes feature a portrait of a famous Swiss person on the front and a scene from Swiss history or culture on the back.

The current series of Swiss banknotes was introduced in 1995. The notes were designed by Jörg Zintzmeyer and Manuel Krebs and printed by Orell Füssli Security Printing. The notes are made of cotton paper and measure 74 by 148 millimeters. They are protected against counterfeiting by a number of security features, including a watermark, a security thread, and a hologram.

Swiss banknotes are legal tender in Switzerland and are also widely accepted in Liechtenstein. They are also used as a store of value and as a means of payment in many other countries around the world.
