What did the Muslims call Iberian Peninsula?

The Muslims called the Iberian Peninsula Al-Andalus. The name Al-Andalus was derived from the Arabic name for the Vandal kingdom that had ruled the peninsula from 409 to 429. The name was first used by the Muslims in the 8th century, and it remained in use until the end of Muslim rule in Spain in 1492.
