Why do Albania the modern country and Caucasian share same name?

The modern-day country of Albania and the Caucasian region of Albania (now part of Azerbaijan) do not share the same name. Historically, the ancient country of Albania referred to the region in the eastern part of the Caspian Sea, which is distinct from the modern country of Albania in Europe.
