The Volga River is located in the continent of Europe. It is the longest river in Europe, stretching over 3,500 kilometers (2,200 miles) from its source in the Valdai Hills of Russia to its mouth at the Caspian Sea. The Volga River basin covers an area of about 1.3 million square kilometers (500,000 square miles) and includes parts of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Ukraine.
