Where did the icelanders immigrate?

Iceland was settled by seafaring Norwegians and Celts in the 9th and 10th centuries. The settlers were mainly farmers, fishermen and traders. They brought with them their language, culture, and traditions, which have been preserved in Iceland to this day.
