Allied Irish Banks, plc, commonly known as AIB, is an Irish state-owned retail and commercial bank. Headquartered in Dublin, it is the largest retail and commercial bank in Ireland. It was founded in 1966 by the merger of the Royal Bank of Ireland and the Munster & Leinster Bank. AIB provides banking services to both personal and business customers, including mortgages, loans, savings accounts, and investment products. It also offers international banking services. AIB is listed on the Irish Stock Exchange and is a constituent of the ISEQ 20 index.
