How much land in Scotland is Arable land?

Arable land covers 6.3% of Scotland, approximately 600,000 hectares. This may seem deceptively small due to the total area of Scotland being 79,984 km², however most of the land area in Scotland is peatbog or mountain (68%). As a result, Scotland is one of the least arable countries in Europe.
