Aberdeenshire is not part of the Scottish Highlands. It lies in the northeast of Scotland, a region characterized by rolling farmland, coastal plains, and the Grampian Mountains' eastern foothills.
The Highlands are defined as the mountainous region in the northwest of Scotland, north and west of the Great Glen (Glen More). This area includes iconic ranges like the Cairngorms, Torridon, and Ben Nevis.
While both regions offer stunning scenery, they are geographically and culturally distinct.
