Where is the nearest gold mine to Ireland?
There are no active gold mines in Ireland, and there have never been any commercially viable gold deposits discovered in the country. The nearest gold mines are located in Scotland and England. In Scotland, the Cononish gold mine in Argyll and Bute and the Tyndrum gold mine in Perth and Kinross have both produced significant amounts of gold. In England, the Clogau St. David's gold mine in Gwynedd, Wales has been the only significant gold mine in recent history. However, all of these mines are currently inactive.
