What is Edinburgh Castle?

Edinburgh Castle is one of the most famous castles in the world. In fact, it has been named 'The most besieged place in Great Britain, if not the UK.

It has occupied the same castle rock for approximately 300,000,000 years, the first signs of life were from the bronze age (2000 B.C.). However most of the building that can be seen now-a-days originates from the Victorian era.
