Why is Bolivia one of the wettest countries in world?

Bolivia is actually not one the wettest countries in the world. In fact, it's quite dry. The country's average annual precipitation is only around 500 millimeters, which is less than half the global average. Much of the country is covered by the Altiplano, a high, arid plateau. The Andes Mountains also block moisture-carrying clouds from reaching the country's interior.
