Why It's So Populous

• Mild Climate: Temperate year-round due to elevation (1,500–2,500 m).
• Economic Hub: Concentrates industry, services, government, education.
• Historical Settlement: Core of Aztec Empire, then Spanish colonial administration.

The plateau is a high, flat basin ringed by the Sierra Madre Occidental and Oriental, creating a natural corridor for dense urbanization.
