Where Mexicans came from?
Mexicans are primarily the descendants of indigenous peoples who lived in the region that is now Mexico prior to the arrival of Europeans in the 16th century, also people from European (mainly Spanish) origin, and the descendants of people brought from Africa as slaves. Over the centuries, there has been a significant degree of intermingling between these different groups, resulting in the emergence of a distinct Mexican identity and culture.
