What is an Alamo tree in Mexico?

The term `Alamo tree` typically refers to the Southern Cottonwood (`Populus deltoides`), not to be confused with the `álamos` tree (`Populus nigra`), which is commonly identified under the English name Lombardy poplar or Black poplar instead.

Both Southern Cottonwood and Black poplar belong to the family of Willows (Salicaceae).
