Why Mexico become a democracy immediately after they gained independence?

Mexico did not immediately become a democracy after gaining independence. In fact, Mexico experienced a tumultuous period of political instability following independence, including a series of authoritarian governments and dictatorships. It was not until the 1990s that Mexico transitioned to a stable democratic system.
