New York City has 208 named avenues, running north-south and numbered from 1st Avenue on the east side of Manhattan to 12th Avenue on the west side. Beyond 12th Avenue, the avenues are named: Riverside Drive, West End Avenue, Broadway, Columbus Avenue, Amsterdam Avenue, Eighth Avenue, Seventh Avenue, Sixth Avenue, Fifth Avenue, Madison Avenue, Park Avenue, Lexington Avenue, Third Avenue, and Second Avenue.
