Why did puritans move from Holland to North America?

There are a number of reasons why the Puritans moved from Holland to North America.

* Religious freedom. The Puritans were a Protestant religious sect who believed in the right to worship according to their own beliefs. They faced religious persecution in England and Holland, and they hoped to find a place in North America where they could practice their religion freely.

* Political freedom. The Puritans were also political dissidents who opposed the monarchy and the aristocracy. They wanted to establish a government that was based on the consent of the governed, and they believed that North America was the ideal place to do so.

* Economic opportunity. The Puritans were also seeking economic opportunity in North America. They hoped to be able to acquire land and build a better life for themselves and their families.

* The Great Migration. Between 1620 and 1640, a period known as the Great Migration, an estimated 20,000 Puritans left England for North America. This was due in part to religious persecution, but also to economic hardship and the desire for a better life.

The Puritans were one of the most influential groups of people to settle in North America. They helped to establish the United States as a nation based on the principles of religious freedom, political freedom, and economic opportunity.
