Monuments for Coal Miners

Coal mining is a hazardous and hard job. Many miners in America and around the world have perished when working in coal mines, buried underground after accidents or felled by lung problems. In towns with an actual or historical coal mining economy, monuments to coal miners are often built as a way to recognize the miners' effort and courage. Such memorials can be found in Colorado and Kentucky, as well as in Slovenia, in Europe.
