Photosynthesis is the process through which plants take energy from the sun and convert it into food; plants create energy through photosynthesis. Photosynthesis is necessary for all plant and animal life because all organisms rely on plant energy either directly or indirectly. Without producers, life would quickly disappear from the rainforest due to food shortages. Other examples of producers could be fungi and some photosynthetic bacteria which help in recycling dead, plant and animal wastes to form natural fertile soil, on which rain forest thrives and flourish the best.
