Pennsylvania's Three Highest Peaks: Mount Davis, Mount Washington, Blue Knob

Pennsylvania's highest summits are all in the Appalachian Mountains:

1. Mount Davis (3,213 ft / 979 m): Highest point in Pennsylvania. Located in Forbes State Forest, Somerset County, on the Laurel Ridge (part of the Allegheny Plateau). 360° views from observation tower.
2. Mount Washington (3,142 ft / 958 m): Second highest. In Fayette County, on the Chestnut Ridge (Allegheny Front). Not to be confused with NH's Mt. Washington. Part of Ohiopyle State Park area.
3. Blue Knob (3,093 ft / 943 m): Third highest. In Bedford County, on the Allegheny Front (Blue Knob Mountain). Hosts Blue Knob State Park and a ski resort. Distinctive dome shape.

All three are broad, forested ridges rather than sharp peaks, characteristic of the ancient, eroded Appalachians. They offer hiking, skiing, and vistas over the Ridge-and-Valley Province.
