U.S. Response to North Korea's 1950 Invasion of South Korea
The U.S. led a United Nations Command providing:
Ground troops, naval forces, air power
Economic and logistical support to South Korea
The UNC halted the North Korean advance, pushed them back to the 38th parallel, and fought to a stalemate. An armistice was signed in 1953, but no peace treaty followed.
