Does America get along with Russia today?

As of my knowledge cutoff in September 2021, the relationship between the United States and Russia has been strained for many years due to a number of unresolved disputes and conflicting interests. Some key factors contributing to the tension between the two countries include:

1. Ukraine Crisis: Russia's annexation of Crimea and support for separatists in eastern Ukraine in 2014 led to international sanctions against Russia and further deterioration in relations with the United States.

2. Cybersecurity: The United States and Russia have accused each other of engaging in cyberattacks, including allegations of Russian interference in the 2016 US presidential election.

3. Arms Control: The two countries have disagreed over arms control issues, including the future of the New START treaty, which limits the deployment of strategic nuclear weapons.

4. Human Rights: The United States has criticized Russia's human rights record, including restrictions on freedom of speech and assembly, as well as the treatment of political dissidents.

5. Syria: Russia's military involvement in the Syrian civil war and support for President Bashar al-Assad has put it at odds with the United States and its allies, who have called for Assad's removal.

6. Political Ideology: The United States, as a liberal democracy, and Russia, with a more authoritarian political system, have fundamental ideological differences that contribute to tensions between the two countries.

It's important to note that the situation can evolve over time, and the relationship between the United States and Russia may change based on ongoing developments and diplomatic efforts.
