What would be the shape of a line draw along Hawaiian Island chain and continued through Emperor Seamount chain?

If a line were drawn from the Hawaiian Islands to the Emperor Seamounts, it would form a gently curving arc. This arc would be convex toward the north and would extend for approximately 6,000 kilometers (3,700 miles). The Hawaiian-Emperor seamount chain is formed by a hotspot, which is a weak spot in the Earth's crust where magma rises from the mantle. As the Pacific Plate moves over the hotspot, new volcanoes form and eventually become islands. The volcanoes on the eastern end of the chain (the Hawaiian Islands) are youngest, while those on the western end (the Emperor Seamounts) are oldest.
