Where are oceans found?

Oceans are vast bodies of salt water that cover about 71% of the Earth's surface. They are located in different parts of the world and are classified into five major oceans:

1. Pacific Ocean: This is the largest ocean, covering about 30% of the Earth's surface. It is located between the North and South Americas to the east and Asia and Australia to the west.

2. Atlantic Ocean: The second largest ocean, covering about 20% of the Earth's surface. It is located between the Americas to the west and Europe and Africa to the east.

3. Indian Ocean: Located between Africa to the west, Asia to the north, and Australia to the east, the Indian Ocean covers about 15% of the Earth's surface.

4. Southern Ocean: Sometimes referred to as the Antarctic Ocean, the Southern Ocean surrounds Antarctica. It covers about 15% of the Earth's surface and is considered by some to be a part of the Pacific, Atlantic, and Indian Oceans.

5. Arctic Ocean: The smallest and shallowest ocean, the Arctic Ocean is located at the top of the globe and surrounds the North Pole. It covers about 5% of the Earth's surface.

These oceans are interconnected and form one continuous system of salt water. They play crucial roles in regulating Earth's climate, supporting marine biodiversity, and facilitating global trade and transportation.
