Has UK signed the schengen agreement?

The United Kingdom is not a member of the Schengen Agreement. The Schengen Area is a zone in Europe where 26 countries within Europe have abolished passport and border controls at their mutual borders. The United Kingdom is not part of this agreement and therefore retains border controls for people entering and leaving the country.
