What Are Surrounding States?

Surrounding states (or neighboring states) are those that share a common border with a given state or region. They often have geographic, historical, cultural, or economic ties and interactions.

Example: California's neighbors are Oregon (north), Nevada and Arizona (east), and Baja California, Mexico (south).
