Just yards from the shore juts the 235-foot monolith of Haystack Rock, overlooking the Oregon coastal city of Cannon Beach. Each year over 200,000 visitors come to this area to enjoy the nine miles of sandy beaches, fly kites, and observe the raucous seabirds and varied sea life. This whole area is known as the Haystack Resort at Cannon Beach.
On most days from June to September visitors outnumber the 1,700 permanent residents of Cannon Beach. It's a city for strolling, visiting unique shops and bistros, admiring local art and handicrafts, and catching the fresh coastal atmosphere. There's more than enough to see and do for several days.
Families can find suites that will sleep five to six people, while individuals and couples can choose one or two queen-bed studios. Some accommodations come with fireplaces and mini-kitchens. Some also allow one or two pets.
