Pigeon Forge is a vacation destination for many people traveling through Tennessee. Douglas Lake has 550 miles of shoreline and so all of the Smoky Mountain Lake Rentals are lakefront with dock or dock access. The rental homes are under 30 minutes from Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Some of the houses have pools or pool access and some are also pet friendly. Heaven's Door on Douglas Lake is a privately-owned, luxury log home that offers, according to its website, "spectacular lake and mountain views all year around." The large, family-sized home (3000 square foot) is tree-lined and private, with its own dock and boat launch ramps nearby. It is only 30 minutes from Pigeon Forge and other destinations, such as Dolllywood, Gatlinburg and white water rafting locations. The home's website offers many photographs of the interior and exterior of the rental home, which includes a game room with pool table, ping pong, air hockey, darts and more.

Lakefront cabins have private lake frontage with docks and all cabins have access to nearby boat launches. For car-racing enthusiasts, the Bristol Motor Speedway is under two hours away.
