The Grand Canyon is a spectacular work of nature, making it a much-photographed subject for amateur and professional photographers alike. Photography tours give shutterbugs the opportunity to take the best pictures possible from the best locations, and also provide historical and anecdotal information that makes the pictures come alive for the photographer.
Adventure Photo Tours offers two Grand Canyon adventures. The Grand Canyon National Park VIP Tour takes visitors to Hoover Dam, and includes several stops along the South Rim. The tour covers a stop by an authentic old west train and provides an opportunity for a self-guided walking tour that begins at Mather Point. The Grand Canyon Helicopter Tour and Ranch Adventure takes visitors to Hoover Dam, Joshua Tree Forest, the Grand Canyon West Ranch, and then a helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon. In early 2010 the cost of the VIP tour was $179 per person, and the Helicopter tour was $279 per person.

Photo Safaris takes the photographer down into the canyon to a world of waterfalls and vegetation that most canyon visitors never get to see. Because of the remoteness of the site, helicopters take the photographers down while pack horses bring their belongings. Walking tours from the base camp include four days of photo opportunities at several locations including Havasu Falls. Meals and all camping equipment are provided by the base camp. As of early 2010, the cost of the tour was approximately $4,000.
