Make a travel plan. Once you have made hotel reservations, you can plan your inter-island itinerary. You can travel to the main island, Maui, O'ahu, Kaua'i, Lanai'i, or Molakai. Some islands have airports in more than one city, so be specific about the destinations you plan to visit.

Purchase tickets. You can purchase your tickets online or by phone. If purchasing tickets last minute, you can purchase your tickets at the airline counter. If traveling in the high tourist season, the summer months, book your tickets as soon as possible.
Check-in online. If you booked your flight in advance, you can check-in online 24 hours before your flight. This allows you to choose your seats before the flight. It also helps you avoid the long check-in line. If you do not have access to a computer, ask your hotel concierge for assistance.
Pack light. Inter-island flights have limited space. Planes are small and follow strict weight requirements. Take only essentials such as sunscreen, light clothing and medications.
Be on time for your flight. Arrive at the airport at least one hour before your departure time to go through airport security.
Find ground transportation. You can take a taxi or arrange to be picked up by a shuttle. Some hotels offer airport transportation. Check with your hotel concierge.
