The Three Gorges Dam in China is the largest power station in the world. It is a hydroelectric dam located on the Yangtze River in Hubei province. The dam is 2,309 metres (7,575 feet) long and 185 metres (607 feet) high, and has a total installed capacity of 22,500 megawatts (MW). The Three Gorges Dam generates an average of 100 terawatt-hours (TWh) of electricity per year, which is equivalent to the electricity consumption of 100 million people in China.
