Why was the Texas Navy created and why it dissovled?

The Texas Navy was created in 1835 during the Texas Revolution, when Texas declared its independence from Mexico. It was originally composed of a small number of privately-owned vessels and was primarily used to attack Mexican shipping and supply lines in the Gulf of Mexico.

The Texas Navy played an important role in a number of key victories for the Texan forces, including the capture of San Antonio de Béxar in 1835, the Battle of Galveston in 1837, and the Battle of San Jacinto in 1836.

After the revolution, the Texas Navy continued to operate as part of the Republic of Texas. However, it was later disbanded in 1846 when Texas became a state of the United States.
