Why was John Quincy Adams a bad president?
There is no consensus among historians that John Quincy Adams was a bad president. In fact, many historians consider him to be one of the greatest presidents in American history. During his presidency, Adams achieved much in foreign policy, domestic policy, and economic policy. However, there were some events during his presidency that could be interpreted as mistakes or failures. The most notable event was the Indian Removal Act of 1830, which forcibly removed thousands of Native Americans from their tribal lands and relocated them to Indian Territory west of the Mississippi River. Many people, including the Cherokee Nation, considered the Indian Removal Act to be inhumane.
