Cruises From New York to Ireland

New York boasts two cruise port terminals with almost all major cruise lines represented. There are many transatlantic cruises available; however few direct cruises to Ireland. Your best option is to take a transatlantic, one-way or a repositioning cruise to England and then taking a connecting cruise to Ireland.

    • Occasionally, the Silversea Cruise line offers transatlantic trips from New York with a 14 day itinerary with stops in Newport, Rhode Island, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, Cork and Waterford, Ireland and Cornwall and Southhampton, UK. In May 2010, the newest cruise ship the Silver Whisper sailed this itinerary at a cost of $5,798 per person for a suite. The ship provides an outdoor pool, two Jacuzzis, a show lounge with nightly entertainment, dancing, moonlight movies on the deck, a variety of dining options, a fitness room and beauty salon.     Cunard's Queen Mary 2

    • Cruise across the Atlantic from Brooklyn, New York's terminal to England's Southhampton port. The Queen Mary 2 is only regularly scheduled transatlantic itinerary offering six and seven day journeys from April through November. From the Southampton you can depart on one many options of cruise lines and itineraries to Ireland. (ref 2) The Queen Mary 2 occasionally offers 20 day Grand Around the British Isles trips from New York which include a port of call in Cork. (Ref3) The Queen Mary 2 offers old world elegance in its nine restaurants, twelve bars, ballroom, theater, spa and dancing venues.     Princess Cruise Lines Connection

    • Princess Cruise Line's Crown Princess has itineraries from London's Southampton terminal around the British Isles which you can connect to after your transatlantic cruise. Stops include the ports in Cork, Dublin and Belfast. The ship offers 12 different eateries, seven bars/lounges, theater, outdoor movies, four pools, six hot tubs an adult only spa area, boutique, casino, putting course, golf simulator, fitness room, jogging track, library, internet café, and even a wedding chapel. As of 2010, the cruise cost per person averages between $1,800 to $3500. (ref 5)
