Get the name of the cruise line and cruise ship that you want to track. Sometimes more than one ship will have the same name, even though they are owned by different cruise lines. For example, both Disney and Carnival have ships named Dream. Knowing the correct cruise line will ensure that you find the right ship.

Visit the Sailwx website, which offers free real-time tracking of cruise ships. You don't have to register to use the site. You only have to know the cruise line and ship name. Type this information into the box that says "Search for one ship by name," then click the Search button.

    • 3

Click the cruise ship name from the resulting list. If you entered the cruise line and ship name correctly, your desired ship should be the only one shown. If there are several ships, click the one you wish to find.

    • 4

Locate the big red dot on the map that comes up. That shows the cruise ship's current location. There will be smaller red dots showing its recent path. You can zoom in and zoom out on the map if desired. You can also customize the number of hours for which the ship's path appears.
