How to Get Palo Reservations on the Disney Cruise Ships

Palo is the adults-only restaurant on the Disney Magic and Wonder cruise ships. It has its own galley, so its Northern Italian cuisine is on a par with upscale restaurants on land. Because of its popularity and a limited number of tables, reserving a time at Palo can be hard to come by. However, with a little preparation and planning, you can increase your odds of getting one of these coveted reservations.

Instructions

    • 1

Book your Palo reservations online as soon as you can. If you have booked a suite, you can make Palo reservations 105 days before your cruise if your reservation is paid in full. If you have sailed on Disney Cruise Line before, you are a Castaway Club member and can make Palo reservations 90 days in advance if your reservation is paid in full. All other passengers can start their online bookings for Palo 75 days before the cruise. Booking opens up at midnight on the designated day, so log on and be ready when the clock strikes 12.

    • 2

Book high tea or brunch first. On some sailings, Disney offers brunch and high tea. Because these two events are only available on sea days, availability is much more limited than dinner, so book as quickly as possible.

    • 3

Keep checking all the way up until 3 days before your cruise if you couldn't get an online booking at the designated time. Palo can be booked and reservations can be changed or canceled up until 3 days before your trip. You never know when someone else might cancel; if you keep checking, you might find a reservation that is available because someone just canceled.

    • 4

Get to the port as early as possible and try to make reservations on board if you can't get a reservation before your cruise. Shortly after boarding begins you'll be able to request Palo reservations in a designated location. Go there as quickly as possible for the best chance of getting a reservation.

    • 5

Ask to be put on the waiting list if you can't get a confirmed reservation. Often people will cancel once they get on board the ship. When this happens, someone from Palo will work her way down the wait list so you might get lucky and score one of the cancellations.
